The Hunting Club - Presented by Meat and Livestock Australia and The Charming Squire
Co-owners and chefs of Three Blues Ducks and Meat & Livestock Australia advocates, Andy Allen and Darren Robertson, will be demonstrating the versatility of Aussie favourites beef and lamb.
Taking inspiration from fresh Queensland produce, the duo will serve up recipes created exclusively for Regional Flavours using the not-so-common cuts.
Watch as they whip up lamb tomahawks with chimichurri and beef bone marrow and join in the fun as two best mates demonstrate the many ways you can enjoy the underrated cuts of beef and lamb.
Darren Robertson and Andy Allen
Darren Robertson is a chef, restaurant owner, cookbook author, television presenter, family man and avid surfer.
This Hertfordshire-born Brit blends rock-solid cooking credentials with a ‘real food’ philosophy. Having trained in Michelin starred restaurants overseas, Darren then became known as one of the originals of the guerrilla dining movement in Australia. Now a passionate advocate of farm-to-table cooking, Darren champions sustainability and using ethically farmed produce.
Based on his beliefs, the restaurants where he is chef and co-owner are not only growing but thriving – Three Blue Ducks at The Farm in Byron, Bronte and Rosebery. His two cookbooks The Blue Ducks and The Blue Ducks Real Food have stemmed from their success. He’s also a regular columnist for the Sydney Morning Herald’s and Delicious Magazine.
In 2017 Darren opened Rocker in North Bondi, a European style coastal eatery overlooking Bondi beach. Rocker has since earned 4 out of 5 from Delicious Magazine and a SMH Chef’s Hat.
Darren is as comfortable in front of the camera as he is in the kitchen. Using fire and simple ingredients, he takes the quintessential Aussie BBQ to a whole new level, hosting Lifestyle Food’s Darren Robertson’s Charcoal Kitchen. He’s also co-host of Channel Ten’s Recipe to Riches, has appeared on reality juggernaut MasterChef, Ready Steady Cook and Iron Chef USA and most recently a guest judge on MKR.
When he’s not foraging in the paddocks or surfing, he’s in the kitchen cooking, fermenting, pickling, and testing recipes with his fiancée - meteorologist, journalist, TV presenter and food author, Magdalena Roze and son Archie. For more information on Darren, follow him on Facebook.
A former electrician, Andy Allen’s life was changed forever when he became the youngest winner of Masterchef Australia Series 4, in 2012.
Since then, Andy has continued his passion and learning as a co-owner and chef at the renowned Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery Sydney. He has also travelled around Australia and the world with best mate, Ben Milbourne, in the TV and online series, Eat Australia, which he co-produced for SBS Food Network.
