The grand setting of South Bank Piazza welcomes some of Australia’s favourite chefs for two days of live cooking demonstrations, book signings and celebrity spotting.

The energetic and incomparable Miguel Maestre will again host the Main Stage program with guests including Matt Preston, George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan, Poh Ling Yeow, Dan Churchill, Justine Schofield, Reynold Poernomo and Ellie Bullen.

Demonstrations span dazzling desserts to one-pot wonders; and Queensland classics to authentic Asian.

Entry is free but seating is limited so arrive early to secure a spot. Presenters will sign cookbooks after each session at a pop-up shop in South Bank Piazza.

Most notable in Gary’s career however is his cemented role as a judge on MasterChef Australia. Eleven years in and 15 variations of the series later, MasterChef has been by all accounts a game changer for Gary. He now has two series of Masters of Taste on Fox Life India, which has been nominated for several awards. Reynold was inducted into the MasterChef Australia hall of fame in 2015. Known as the ‘Dessert King’ Reynold’s expertise lay in the art of creating desserts. Reynold lacks a sweet tooth, but instead owns a creative flare and desire to conquer a challenge. Reynold’s drive to succeed led to the opening of his renowned dessert bar in 2016, KOI Dessert Bar & Dining, which he operates with his two brothers. In addition to their popular dessert degustation, the trio also serve up a set menu of savoury dishes inspired by their Indonesian and Australian heritage. Despite Reynolds incredible technique, he has never studied, nor is professionally trained as a chef; although with parents both in the hospitality industry, it’s easy to see what led him down this sweet path. In 2010, Poh published her first cookbook, Poh’s Kitchen - My Cooking Adventures, which stayed in the Top Ten Australian Bestsellers List for six weeks. Four years on, Poh’s second cookbook with HarperCollins, Same Same but Different, was released. Publishing interest in her books has continued to grow and a new deal was then signed with Murdoch Publishing for her third cookbook Poh Bakes A Hundred Greats, which was on shelves by 2017.
