Little Stanley Street Lawn. 10:00am–5:00pm
Let us take you to a luscious locale, where Queensland provenance reigns supreme. At the Queensland Taste Stage and Marketplace presented by The Courier-Mail, you’ll discover the heart and soul of sunshine state fare.
On stage, local chefs will walk you through exquisite recipes using local produce – think black garlic from Gympie, brilliantly-coloured Lockyer Valley beetroots and melt-in-the-mouth Moreton Bay seafood to name a few.
Feeling thirsty? There’s also several sessions dedicated entirely to that beautifully roasted lifeblood, coffee, plus expert wine tips from renowned connoisseurs. All demonstrations are free to watch. There’s also a special ‘up-close-and-personal’ element this year, where you can ask questions directly to the experts on stage.
Over at the Marketplace, more than 80 stallholders from across the state have travelled to Brisbane for one weekend only, and you can sample and shop their wares. There’ll be wine, chili and nuts from the South Burnett, tempeh, dairy and honey from the Sunshine Coast, camel milk and vegetables from the Scenic Rim, plus so much more. While you’re there, take a moment to chat to the local farmers and producers to get a real sense of what makes Queensland produce so unique.
Want to taste your new-found wares straight away? Special pockets within the Queensland Taste area are licensed, so you can settle in on the lawn, pop a bottle of wine and feast on your spoils amid live music and chill, market vibes. Both the Queensland Taste Stage and the Marketplace are located on South Bank’s Little Stanley Street Lawn. The Marketplace is open from 10am-5pm.
